The personal, complete title, for these prints is: ‘I Bite & Sting…(and You’d Better Believe it)’. Hopefully laced with levity, they are my personal riposte to the world in our current wonky times, the toil and the strains. They were drawn in Berlin and printed in London during the first Covid lockdown. I intend them to be an affirmative, jocular growl at those things which block our path. 12 animals that are likely to bite back should their tail be tweaked. They are, in that sense, all self portraits. (SC)
There is a tree in Runnymede, Berkshire, which is thought to have witnessed the signing of the Magna Carta, 1215. If trees could talk, they would have stories to tell…. (SC)
Thirteen etchings inspired by the life of Giacomo Casanova. Before he was the renowned lothario, he had tried his hand at music, magic and priesthood, and much else. He invented the national lottery, which he tried, unsuccessfully, to sell to Catherine the Great. Shown at the 57th Venice Biennale 2017. (SC)

The set originates from the musings of what would happen if Loki, the Norse god, and Kali, the Indian deity were to have an affair. Both known for their defiance, mischief, and tempestuousness, the relationship would be combustible. The twenty prints depict twenty people who, though residing in the pages of books, existing in mythology and living in differing eras or locations, could never meet. Were they to meet and liaisons ensue, then ‘sparks would fly’; a dating agency from hell. Exhibited at The Royal Academy , London 2012, The Pera Museum, İstanbul 2014, and numerous other locations.
